1729, commonly known as "The Principia" published by Benjamin Motte in two volumes, translated by Andrew Motte, remaining the first and only translation of Newton's "Philosophia Naturalis Principia Mathematica", first published in London in 1687, inscription on front page of "J. Pollard, 1855", both volumes complete, having engraved frontispieces, multiple folding engraved plates, Volume I having (25) numbered foldout plates, Volume II having (19) numbered foldout plates, (3) unnumbered foldout plates, (2) letter press table foldouts, both having mottled calfboards, professionally re-backed, gilt spine titles and a signature; together with a modern paperback copy
