Operator." below image, hand printed record of the chain of possession through the Cox family on verso, visible through the back glass of the double-pane wood float frame, the sheet attached using photo corner mounts to backing mat; together with a sleeve containing scans of the image and a copy of the National Historical Society book "The Image of War: 1861-1865 Vol. IV" in which the image appears on page #48
